How leaders can recognise mental ill-health in their teams, hold supportive conversations without overstepping clinical boundaries, manage psychosocial hazards in their area of responsibility, and build a team culture that prevents distress before it escalates.

People leaders, line managers, supervisors, and HR business partners. Anyone with direct reports or formal responsibility for team wellbeing.

The awareness program is for everyone; the leadership program is for leaders. It focuses on the manager-specific responsibilities — the conversations, the policies, the boundaries, and the legal duty under WHS legislation around psychosocial hazards.

Typically a half-day (3 hours) or full-day session, delivered face-to-face on-site or via live online webinar. Longer formats include practical role-play of supportive conversations.

It is not a nationally accredited course. For an accredited qualification see the Accredited Mental Health First Aid program. The leadership program is professional development, calibrated to leadership responsibilities, rather than a certification.
